Around 11 this morning I started feeling not quite right. Pressure in my chest/throat, woozy/nauseated feeling, short of breath weak and unsteady on my feet. I took my blood pressure and the top number was in the 130s.
I called the Kaiser heart failure clinic and based on what I told them about my symptoms, they wanted me to go to the nearest ER to be checked out.
I called my friend Jen who called around looking for a ride for me, and called on my friend Jacquelynn to come stay with the kids.
My friend Melanie happened to be nearby running errands and quickly arrived at my house. She is a cancer survivor and helped me think about what to pack in a bag in case I had to stay in the hospital.
We got to the ER at Kaweah a little after noon.
After running tests and consulting with Kaiser, they decided to send me home.
Before discharging me at 2:45, the ER doctor expressed concern that I seemed to be dwindling and wondered if I need even more help at home....
