Heart Failure to Transplant: Advance Directive

I posted the following to my CaringBridge journal on Nov 19, 2014:

It is part of the pre-transplant work up process to talk through possible worst case scenario medical or end of life decisions with Adam, guided by a psychologist and social worker. We have an appointment to do this set for Monday afternoon in Santa Clara.

In October when I began this pre-transplant workup process, I was given a booklet to read through regarding advance directives, but I did not feel ready to look at it and just set it aside.

I found it again this morning and decided I was ready to look through it and think seriously about what I would want.

Wading through the material sparked some questions, so I have been doing some research and reading on end-of-life ethics to help me solidify and clarify my values and decisions.

Heavy stuff, especially when it's not quite as abstract...
